Study Says More People Care About The Environment Than Economy

A survey from Michigan State University shows most residents would like to see policymakers prioritize the environment over economic growth.

59 percent of the one thousand people polled in the online survey favored protecting the environment even when there could be economic risks such as job loss.

Associate professor Dan Bergan and other researchers say lawmakers need to know people are concerned about the environment.

He says the survey results are somewhat counterintuitive since President Trump won in Michigan.
