Tourist Season Over On Mackinac Island

Things are much quieter now on Mackinac Island with the end of the season.

The island only has about 500 residents during the winter after all of the visitors leave.

Where do all of the horses go, do they winter in Florida?

Owner of the Grand Hotel, Dan Musser, says they go to a couple of farms in the U.P. and some stay on the island.

During the off-season, Musser says they’ll redo the west side of the hotel’s front porch and renovate some suites.
