UPHS – Bell welcomes Riley Torreano, MD, to Family Medicine staff

ISHPEMING — UPHS – Bell is proud to announce the addition of Riley Torreano, MD, to its Family Medicine Staff.

Dr. Torreano grew up in Negaunee and has lived in the UP his entire life. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology/Physiology at Northern Michigan University before finishing his Doctor of Medicine at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Torreano would finish his residency with the Marquette Family Medicine Program.

“Working at UPHS – Bell after finishing residency felt like a natural move that will put me back in the community I deeply care for,” Dr. Torreano said.

While taking part of the Marquette Family Medicine program, Dr. Torreano was selected as the recipient for the Dr. Bo Rowan Humanism in Medicine Award. The honor is given to an individual who demonstrates compassion, empathy, respect and empathetic listening skills while providing selfless service to patients.

“I try to meet people where they are in their health care journey and guide them to become the best version of themselves while providing excellent primary care,” he said.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Torreano enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Dr. Torreano joins a Family Medicine Staff that is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality healthcare for our family, friends and neighbors. UPHS – Bell offers a full-spectrum of primary care services including annual physical exams, well-child exams, pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health, minor outpatient surgery, allergy injections, diabetes education, nutrition counseling and more.
