Tourism group encourages visitors to ‘Fall in Love with the Porcupine Mountains’ this fall

Summer may still be sticking around, but the Porcupine Mountains Ontonagon Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (PMCVB) wants visitors to start thinking fall with a new promotion it launched this week.

The PMCVB this week launched its “Fall in Love with the Porcupine Mountains Sweepstakes,” which awards one winner a two-night stay at a Porcupine Mountains-area lodging property, a state park pass to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and a $100 prepaid credit card.

To enter the sweepstakes, which runs through Oct. 16, fans can visit the PMCVB’s website and click on the link. Sweepstakes information can also be found on the PMCVB’s Facebook page.

Visitors to the Porcupine Mountains will find an explosion of fall color in September and October, whether they’re hiking through old-growth forests, taking in the view from the overlook at Lake of the Clouds or simply enjoying a fall day on the shores of Lake Superior.

It’s not just fantastic fall color that brings fans to the Porcupine Mountains, though. Visitors can find plenty to do year-round in the Porcupine Mountains, whether it’s skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter or hiking, biking and running in the summer.

The Porcupine Mountains communities of Ontonagon, Silver City and White Pine offer a variety of lodging options for visitors, from hotels and motels to lodges and cottages. Find more information on lodging options here.
