The MAFE Heritage Award was received by Houghton County Board Members Debbie and Jim WInquist.

Debbie and Jim Winquist have been dedicated volunteers of the Houghton County Fair Board since 2004 when Debbie was first elected. Debbie quickly became very involved taking on roles as the board secretary and coordinating the fair’s gate entrances. Jim joined Debbie as a volunteer at the Houghton County Fair. Starting at the gates, and taking over duties as coordinator when Debbie stepped in to help with the commercial booths. While coordinating gates Jim has helped the fair recruit and retain many gate workers. While Debbie has built an excellent reputation for customer service and vendor management. The Houghton County Fair Board is honored to have dedicated people behind the fair’s success and thanks Debbie and Jim WInquist for their excellent work over the years.

The Houghton County Fair Board has been awarded one of the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions highest honors.
