Two Vehicle Accident On M-203

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Houghton County that could have been a lot worse.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s office says the crash happened on Highway M-203 just north of Christiansen Lane Wednesday afternoon.

Officers say Hancock Township resident Michael Oja was attempting to cross the highway in a 2014 Polaris Ranger when he crossed into the path of a southbound 2000 Chevy Cavalier driven by 20-year-old Bronwyn Nettell of Atlantic Mine.

Nettell was unable to stop and struck the passenger side of Oja’s side by side, causing his vehicle to roll over onto its side.

Oja was ejected from his vehicle but was uninjured.

Nettell sustained a possible minor injury and sought her own medical attention.

Oja was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
