U.S. Forest Service Employees Targeted By Identity Theft

Federal officials are warning U.S. Forest Service employees across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Wisconsin about a rogue company labor relations official who has been charged with four felony counts of aggravated identity theft.

Michael Hanan, a known gambler, has been accused of gathering personal information from coworkers and being on the run committing bank fraud and identity theft of current, former and retired USFS employees.

USFS personnel are being asked to keep a close eye on all credit statements to make sure they have not been victimized.
