Veer for Deer This Hunting Season

As firearms deer season continues, a coalition is stepping up it’s advice to Michigan motorists’ not to “Veer For Deer” should you encounter one. Susan Hiltz, of Triple-A Michigan, a member of the Michigan Deer Crash Coalition says with the beginning of the state’s firearms deer season, it’s time to remind motorists of the dangers of car-deer crashes, and mostly not to “veer” when encountering a deer, because it can more dangerous than striking the animal itself. Last year, 12 motorists were killed and another 1,200 were injured in deer/vehicle crashes in Michigan.
