Wings Drop Third Straight – Monday Sports Wrap

High School

In girls high school basketball Saturday, Calumet defeated Ewen-Trout Creek 46-32. Elli Djerf paced the Copper Kings with 10 points. The Panthers’ Elise Besonen led all scorers with 15.

In boys hoops Saturday, Dollar Bay-Tamarack City shaded Ontonagon 47-44 in overtime.

On the girls basketball schedule tonight…

  • Houghton plays at Calumet.
  • Hancock entertains West Iron County.
  • Lake Linden-Hubbell journeys to Republic-Michigamme.
  • Chassell tips off at Jeffers.
  • L’Anse visits Ishpeming.
  • Baraga plays at Ewen-Trout Creek.

Both the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City boys and girls teams will play varsity games at Watersmeet this evening.

Also in boys play tonight, Chassell hosts Wakefield-Marenisco, in a game that was postponed from January 29th.

NHL

The Chicago Blackhawks scored three goals in the third period to put away the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 yesterday afternoon. The Wings visit the Nashville Predators tomorrow evening. Pregame coverage will start at 7:40 on 99.3 The Lift.
