Obituary: Daniel M. “Dan” DeRosier

PAINESDALE

Daniel Mark DeRosier, 60, a resident of Painesdale, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, at UP Health System-Marquette, with his family by his side.

He was born April 13, 1957, in Hancock, Michigan, a son to the late George and Louise (LePine) DeRosier, and was a 1975 graduate of the Jeffers High School.

Following graduation, Dan went to work at Northern Hardwoods.  He retired after 37 years of service, due to ill health.

Dan was married to the former Tonnie Andrews on April 28, 1979, at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range.

Dan was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.  He loved spending time at Twin Lakes with family and friends.  Dan’s pride and joy were his grandkids.  He always looked forward to time spent with them.

Dan is survived by his wife, Tonnie of Painesdale; a son, Danny of Painesdale; a daughter, Crystal (Justin) Marier of South Range, and their children, Tyson, Talan and Daylon; a brother, George (Lynn) DeRosier of Painesdale; his twin sister, Cindy (Bill) Marinelli of Twin Lakes; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Andrews of South Range; two brothers-in-law, Kaz Pindral of Painesdale, and Bill Andrews of South Range; two sisters-in-law, Sherrie Houston of Atlantic Mine, and Julane Cappo of Marquette; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Dan was also preceded in death by a sister, Dianne Pindral; his father-in-law, William Andrews; his maternal grandparents, Russell and Blanche LePine; and his paternal grandmother, Carolyn DeRosier.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range, with Fr. John Martignon as celebrant.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday in the church.  Spring burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in South Range.  Arrangements are being handled by the Mountain View Mortuary of South Range, Antila Funeral Service, Inc.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at antilafuneral.com.
