David Roy Pieti, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday , November 30, 2023, following a brief illness.
David was born on April 16, 1940, in Highland Park, Michigan, to parents Edwin and Irma (Isaacson) Pieti. He graduated from Southfield High School with the class of 1957. After High School he attended Michigan Tech where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Mathematics. In September of 1962, he married the love of his life Patricia Wanhala.
David is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Irma Pieti , his wife Patricia, his son Bret Pieti, his granddaughter Kendra Opie, his brothers Clyde, Paul and Robert .
David is survived by his son Marc (Bette Ann) Pieti. His daughters Sara (Dale) Mattson, Lisa (Greg) Opie, Kristi Pieti, Andrea (Stanley) Johnson, and Daughter in-law Sara Pieti. David is also survived by grandchildren Stephanie, Jason, Ryan, Jared, Annastiina, Meliina, Eric, Ray, Nina, Jenny, Bradley, Thomas, Eva, Mikko, Seth, Jacob, Nathan, Corey, Marcy, Jillian, Micah, Emma, Matthew, Andrew, Lydia and Tricia. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service for David will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church located in Calumet, Michigan.
Public visitation will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet.
A luncheon follows the funeral service at the church. The burial will take place in the spring.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements.
