Obituary: Gary Wayne Auge

Gary Wayne Auge, 74, of Flint and Baraga, MI died December 27, 2017. Gary was born on January 30, 1943 the son of Henry and Sylvia (Styrk) Tollefson. He married Susan White on November 6, 1965 in Baraga. Gary was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965. He graduated from Michigan Technological University with honors. Gary enjoyed the outdoors, camping and traveling to see and explore new places.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan, 5 children, Scott, Craig, (Grace Gatzmeyer), Brent (wife Sharon), and Mary, all of Flint, Glenn (wife Heather) of Rio Rancho, NM; 8 grandchildren, Kenny, Laurana, Tanis, Alyna, Andrew, Hazen, Gabe and Dennis; brother Jaren Tollefson (wife Christine) of L’Anse; and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Hank Auge.

A memorial funeral service for Gary will be held at 11 am Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Baraga with Pastor Julie Belew officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the memorial funeral service. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon at the church. Graveside military honors, under the direction of the Baraga American Legion Post 444 will be conducted in the Baraga Cemetery on Saturday at 1 pm.
