Janet Kump, age 93, of Calumet, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Omega House in Houghton. Janet was born on January 16, 1930 in Hancock to Edmund and Cecilia (Archambeau) Longpre.
Janet graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1947. She met the love of her life, Albert Kump and they were married in December of 1949. Janet worked as a bookkeeper in Detroit prior to coming back to Calumet.
In her spare time, Janet enjoyed playing cards and Bingo, reading, watching TV, solving jigsaw puzzles, picking berries, and making jam at her camp in Traprock.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Cecilia Longpre, her husband Albert Kump and her son David.
Janet is survived by her sons Dennis (Yvonne) Kump of Dallas, Texas and Daniel (Debbie Pike) Kump of Phoenix, Arizona, and her daughter Denise Kump of Calumet, Michigan along with her three grandchildren Beth, Kathy, and Brian and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Jasmine, and Alex.
Janet was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet, Michigan as well as a member of the VFW Post 3900 Auxiliary in Calumet and Daughters of Isabella.
A funeral mass for Janet Kump will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet, Michigan at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 9th, 2023. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday, January 9th, 2023 at Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home.
