Obituary: Karen Vourinen

Karen Vuorinen, 65, a resident of Champion Michigan passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at UP Health System Marquette Hospital.

She was Born on June 1, 1956 in Larium To Wilhelm and Alice (Moilanen) Horsma. In her youth, she lived in Traprock Valley near Lake Linden where she, her family, and friends made many great memories playing on the farm and in the Traprock River. She attended Lake LInden Schools and graduated with the class of 1974

Following High School, she was Married to Ronald Vuorinen and had two sons Ronald Jr. and Chad Vuorinen. They later left the Copper Country and settled down in Ishpeming after the White Pine mine closing. They returned quite often to their camp on Rice Lake, Lake Linden. Karen was trained in cosmetology and enjoyed cutting family and friends hair for many years. She will be missed dearly by her dog Buddy and her cat Pinky.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Ronald and son Ronald Jr. Vuorinen. Also, her three brothers Paul, David, Jimmy Horsma, Mother, Father, and her Uncles and Aunts who all she was very close to.

She is survived by her son Chad Vuorinen, two grandsons Chase and Miles Vuorinen of Champion, Mi and Sister Mavis Horsma of Palmer, Mi
