Obituary: Margie Vogt

Margie L. Vogt, 92, a former resident of the Arbor Green Senior Living community passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Delaware House of Portage Pointe in Hancock where she had been a resident patient.

She was born on December 29, 1929, in Wolverine, MI, a daughter of the late Harry and Mamie (Ashley) Welling. Margie was raised in Wolverine and Cheboygan, MI, and was a graduate of the Cheboygan High School with the class of 1948.

In 1952, she was united in marriage to Henry Vogt the couple moved to make their home in the Ann Arbor area and then Fowlerville. Even though they parted as a married couple they remained a couple until Henry’s passing.

While residing in Lower Michigan Mrs. Vogt had worked as an LPN for the Clinton Valley Center. In retirement, she moved to make her home at the Arbor Green Senior Living Community in Houghton to be close to family. For the past six years, Margie has been a resident patent at Portage Pointe in Hancock.

Mrs. Vogt was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Houghton. She enjoyed sewing projects, antiquing and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her former husband, her parents and her half-brother.

6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

Numerous cousins

As requested, graveside services for Margie may take place in the Silver Lake Cemetery of Wolverine, MI at a later time.
