Obituary: Mary M. Marino

Dodgeville

Mary M. Marino, 88, a former resident of Dodgeville passed away Saturday evening July 14, 2018, at The Light House at Hancock Health & Rehab where she had been a resident patient for the past nine years.

She was born on May 10, 1930, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of Charles and Margaret (Fak) Gerich. Mary was raised in Dodgeville, she attended the Isle Royal and Houghton Schools.

On February 17, 1947, she was united in marriage to Tony Marino. The couple resided in Dodgeville where they raised their family. On January 13, 2006, Tony preceded Mary in death.

Mary was a loving mother & grandmother, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of South Range and FOE Aerie #1122 of South Range. Mary had worked for 30 years as Nurse’s Aide at Portage View Hospital mostly in the Nursery. She had also done some private duty nursing.

Mary loved to spend time with her family and they always looked forward to her cooking and baking for them. She also enjoyed going on trips with the girls she had worked with.

Preceding her in death were her husband Tony, her sisters, Ann Koupus, brothers Tony, John and Charles Grich.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held 11 am Saturday July 21, 2018, at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton.

Friends may call on Friday July 20, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 am at St; Ignatius Loyal Catholic Church of Houghton.
