Obituary: Pamela Kay Sikkila

Pamela Kay “Pam” Sikkila, age 59 of L’Anse passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.  She was born in L’Anse on May 30, 1964 the daughter of Hugo and Viola (Kujala)Sikkila. Pam grew up in Watton, Michigan and attended local schools there.  However, because of medical circumstances she was unable to go on to high school and graduate.  In later years with the help of Copper Country Mental Health, she was able to complete all her needed classes at the Bridge School in Hancock, Michigan and in 2006 she received her diploma.  This achievement, alone, meant the world to her. Pam lived a very humble life.  She was happy with everything she had and was kind to everyone she met.  She loved her family and enjoyed every outing and holiday gathering with them. 

Pam is survived by her siblings, Byron Sikkila, Cheryl (Tom) Archambeau, Jeanne (Bob) Anderson, Darryl Sikkila, Tim Sikkila, Wendy (Brent) Griffin, Holly (Mike) Ferrant, Mary (Roy) Michell and numerous nieces and nephews                                                                                                                             

She was preceded in death by her father Hugo, mother Viola and sister Evelyn.             

There will be no visitation.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  Interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Aurora House, c/o Copper Country Mental Health, 15644 Skanee Road, L’Anse Michigan 49946
