Obituary: Rhoda Brandt

Rhoda J. Brandt, 86, a resident of Donken passed away at her home Friday March 4, 2022, following a short illness.

She was born on October 15, 1935, in Winona, MI, a daughter of the late William and Ina (Lammi) Baakko. Rhoda was raised in Winona and was a graduate of the Winona High School.

On October 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Richard Brandt. The couple resided in Winona, Twin Lakes and for the past 54 years in Donken. On April 12, 2005, Richard preceded Rhoda in death.

Mrs. Brandt was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Winona and was a past Treasurer for Elm River Township. She enjoyed her plants, feeding the birds and small animals, as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, and her brother Delmar.

Surviving are:

Her children: Debra (Chester) Pindral of Painesdale and their children, Adam (Tammy) and Devin (Cindy), LuAnn (Terry) Hayrynen of Misery Bay, Sherri (Tom) Brandt of Donken and her son Josh (Danielle), Laurie (Jim) Raffaelli of South Range and their children, Lucas (Mary) Brandt, Gary (Emily), Scott, and Kevin Raffaelli, and Jennifer (Darrin) Luukonen of Toivola and their daughter Kristin,

Her great-grandchildren: Lyric, Tye, Sadie, Hank, Louis, Pearl and Macy

Her sister: Rhodetta (Richard) Sloan of Helena, MT

A memorial service for Rhoda J. Brandt, 86, a resident of Donken who passed away at her home Friday, March 4, 2022, following a short illness will be held at 12 noon Friday May 6, 2022, at the First Lutheran Church of Winona with Rev. Jay Welshonse officiating.  Friends may call on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 11 am until time of services at the church.

Spring Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery of Winona.
