Obituary: Theresa Novak

Theresa Novak, 86, a resident of Laurium, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Canal View in Hancock, Michigan. Theresa was born on April 21,1938 Laurium, Michigan to Albert and Marion (Beauchamp) Baril.  

Theresa worked at Tony’s Country Kitchen in Laurium working in food prep. She also worked at Columbia Laundry in Laurium and did private home health in the local area.

Theresa loved to watch the Young and the Restless and wrestling. She read her Bible every day. She enjoyed being with family and met a lot of new friends at Canal View where she spent her remaining time playing Bingo and coloring.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Marion Baril. She is also preceded by Lorna Adkins, Katherine Woodward, Alberta Plute, Gordon Baril, and longtime companion Alex Bedore.

Theresa is survived by her children Robert Novak, Kim Machalk, Kim Novak Spelich (Dan), Linda (Novak) Halley (Peter), and Mary (Novak) Peterson. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Nader, her grandchildren, Jon, Melanie, Laura, Danny, Shawn, Amber, Jason, Ashley several great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Theresa will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home at 7pm. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm.
