Obituary: Timothy J. McCormick

Sergeant First Class Timothy J. McCormick (retired), 58, a resident of Calumet passed away at the Omega House on Monday October 23, 2023 after a short yet hard fought battle with glioblastoma.

He was born December 13, 1964 to Sandra L. McCormick and the late James B. McCormick. Tim graduated from Hancock High School class of 1983. In 1984 he enlisted the United States Army where he dedicated twenty six years to the transportation and logistics corps serving in multiple states, Europe, and two deployments to Iraq. After retirement from the army he worked for eight years at a beverage company in sales, and retired in 2019 when he and his wife moved back home to the Keweenaw.

He was the loving husband to Lisa A. (Fredianelli) McCormick and father to Alicia A. McCormick (Melissa McCormick). In addition to his mother Sandy, Tim is also survived by his brothers Terry McCormick (Judy McCormick), and Ted McCormick (Maggie McCormick). Tim also leaves multiple nieces, nephews and one great niece and nephew. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Reba.

Tim was an avid Packers fan, loved long walks with his dog, and thoroughly enjoyed taking drives in his truck as well as the outdoors.

Visitation services will be held Saturday October 28, 2023 at the Mount Carmel room at Church of the Resurrection in Hancock from 10-11am with a Mass at 11am and military services to follow. A luncheon also will be available after for friends and family.

Donations would be greatly appreciated to either the Beacon House of Marquette, KSNAG (cat rescue), or Burn Pits 360.
