Obituary: William “Bill” Foreman

William “Bill” Foreman, 80, a resident of Calumet, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2019 after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side during his last days.

He was born on August 24, 1938 in Calumet, the son of the late Willard and Mary (Hall) Foreman. He was raised in Calumet and Allouez and attended the Public Schools of Calumet. He was also trained in vocational professions including carpentry and upholstery.

On April 24, 1962, he married the love of his life, Judith Jorgenson, and they made their home in Calumet.

Bill proudly served in the US Army from 1962-1964 and served most of that time in Germany. After serving in the Army, Bill worked for Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. Later, he began his 30-plus year career in upholstery at Hancock Upholstery Shop where he was a proprietor and a very skilledtradesman.

Bill was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Laurium and was a man of great faith.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved having family and friends together for barbecues, which were frequent over the years. He especially enjoyed spending time at the lake at Bootjack with his family. He was the life of the party entertaining us all with his funny stories, silly songs and charming smile.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers James and Francis “Frank” Foreman, and sister Edith “Mae”Fretter.

Bill is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy”, his children Jeff (Mary) of Spartanburg, SC and Pam (David) Bastian of Calumet. He is also survived by 7 precious grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Meghan (Christian) Dimas, Brennan, Collin, and Nolan Foreman, and Camryn, Jadyn and Ian Bastian. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Donald) Beaudoin of Houghton, brother Willard Jr. of Utah and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Laurium, from 10am-12pm followed immediately by the funeral service at 12pm on Saturday, August 3, 2019 with Pastor Brian Lundquist officiating. Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon and then graveside Military Honors at Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet.
