2016 MLB All Star Game LogoMLB
The American League won the Major League Baseball All-Star game 4-2 last night. Eric Hosmer and Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals each homered as the A-L scored three times in the second inning. Hosmer… who beat out Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera to start at first base… drove in another run in the third inning, and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Cabrera later replaced Hosmer, and struck out in his only plate appearance. Milwaukee’s Jonathan Lucroy singled in the eighth inning, and advanced to third as the National League loaded the bases. He was stranded when Will Harris of the Astros struck out the Cardinals’ Aledmys Diaz on a full count pitch to end the threat.

The Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers return to action Friday night. The Tigers open a home set against Kansas City. The Brewers begin a series in Cincinnati.
