Tigers pitching prospect Casey Mize tossed a no-hitter for the Erie Seawolves last night. Mize was Detroit’s top pick in the 2018 draft. He needed just 98 pitches in his first start at Double-A, after a promotion from Single-A.

Jesús Aguilar broke out of his hitting slump with his first two home runs of the season, as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-1 last night. Zach Davies earned the win, pitching five scoreless innings, and leaving while the Rockies scored their only run in the sixth.

The Brewers host the Rockies again tonight. Jhoulys Chacín will pitch against German Márquez.

Christian Yelich sat out yesterday’s game, after leaving Sunday’s contest with back stiffness. He’s considered day-to-day. Meanwhile, the Brewers have designated reliever Alex Wilson for assignment. They brought pitchers Jay Jackson and Donnie Hart up from San Antonio, and placed reliever Alex Wilkerson on the injured list. He was hit on the ankle with a batted ball during Sunday’s game.
