MLB

The Tigers and Mets were rained out last night. The game will be played as part of a day-night doubleheader today. Joey Wentz will start against Joey Lucchesi in the afternoon contest, with coverage beginning at 1:15 on 99.3 The Lift. In the nightcap, Michael Lorenzen will start against former Tiger Max Scherzer. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Elías Díaz’ single off Peter Strzelecki in the bottom of the eighth drove home the winning run, as the Rockies edged the Brewers 3-2 last night. The loss spoiled a good effort by starter Freddy Peralta, who allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings, and struck out 10.

The Brewers visit the Rockies again tonight. Eric Lauer will start against Kyle Freeland. 

Outfielder Tyrone Taylor made his season debut last night, after being activated off the injured list. Blake Perkins was sent back to Nashville to make room.

NFL

The Packers have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract extension for quarterback Jordan Love. The deal is worth as much as $22 million, and would keep Love in Green Bay through the 2024 season. Love is expected to replace the departed Aaron Rodgers as the Packers’ starter this fall.
