High School
In high school volleyball tonight, Ewen-Trout Creek plays at Wakefield-Marenisco.

MLB
Matt Boyd gave up five runs in the third inning, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Chicago White Sox 7-1 yesterday. Detroit’s only score came on an Ian Kinsler home run.

After dropping two of three to the last-place White Sox, the Tigers open an interleague series against the Colorado Rockies in Denver tonight. Jordan Zimmermann will start against Antonio Senzatela. Pregame coverage will start at 8:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Detroit designated hitter Victor Martinez is back on the disabled list, again suffering from an irregular heartbeat. Martinez was hospitalized after going into atrial fibrillation after Saturday’s game. He missed time earlier this season for the same reason. JaCoby Jones was recalled from Toledo to fill in.

Hernán Pérez’ homer helped the Milwaukee Brewers edge the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 yesterday. Jimmy Nelson pitched five no-hit innings before giving up two runs in the sixth. He left in the seventh, and got the win. Cory Knebel claimed his 29th save.

The Brewers have today off, and host the Saint Louis Cardinals tomorrow night. Matt Garza will pitch against Luke Weaver.

The Cubs and Cardinals both lost, so Milwaukee now trails Chicago by two games in the National League Central Division. Saint Louis is four-and-a-half games back.

Copper Harbor Trails Festival
The annual Copper Harbor Trails Fest will take place Saturday and Sunday. Events include short and long Enduro races, short and long XC courses, a downhill race, and a junior fat tire event, along with a number of fun and social activities. Our high school football coverage continues Thursday night, when Lake Linden-Hubbell plays at L’Anse. Our broadcast will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
