• The Lakers upended the Grizzlies 117-112.
• The Clippers edged the Suns 115-110.
• The Nuggets shut down the Timberwolves 109-80.

• The Nets visit the 76ers. Philly leads that series 1-0.

The Red Wings are making changes at their top minor league affiliate. Head coach Ben Simon and three assistants will not be brought back to the Grand Rapids Griffins next season. Simon had led the Griffins for the past five seasons, but the team missed the AHL playoffs the last two years, and finished last in their division this season.

MLB

After a rain delay of more than five hours, yesterday’s game between the Tigers and Giants was postponed to July 24th.

The Tigers host the Guardians tonight. Matthew Boyd will start against Hunter Gaddis. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Brian Anderson’s second-inning sacrifice fly plated Garrett Mitchell, and the Brewers held on to edge the Padres 1-0 yesterday. Wade Miley scattered four hits over seven innings to earn the win. San Diego loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but Devin Williams struck out Trent Grisham on a 3-2 pitch to end the threat.

The Brewers visit the Mariners tonight. Corbin Burnes will start against Chris Flexen.

Milwaukee has placed reliever Gus Varland on the 15-day injured list. He was hit by a batted ball during Saturday’s game. Elvis Peguero has been called up from Nashville to fill in.
