– Calumet defeated Houghton 3-1 (25-13, 19-25, 25-19, 25-12). The Copper Kings and Gremlins share first place in the WestPAC.
– Hancock shut down Lake Linden-Hubbell 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 26-24).
– Chassell v Ontonagon – NR.
– Baraga v Ewen-Trout Creek – NR.

MTU Tennis
The Michigan Tech women’s tennis team is in Midland. The Huskies will play Tiffin today, and Findlay tomorrow. The GLIAC tournament begins Friday. The top eight teams in the league make the field. Tech is currently ninth.

Finlandia Volleyball
The Finlandia University volleyball team hosts Northland College tonight at 7:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

Calumet Wolverines Announce Schedule
Calumet Wolverines LogoThe Calumet Wolverines have announced their schedule for the upcoming Great Lakes Hockey League Season. They’ll open at the Keevin Cup Tournament in Fond du Lac Friday and Saturday. The Wolverines will face the Portage Lake Pioneers in home-and-home series December 5th and 6th… and January 2nd and 3rd. The Gibson Cup series will be played March 19th, 20th, and 21st if needed. Check the full schedule here.

NHL – Red Wings Fall to Canadiens in OT
David Desharnais’ goal a minute into overtime lifted the Montreal Canadiens to a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings last night. Henrik Zetterberg scored Detroit’s only goal. Pavel Datsyuk assisted in his return to the lineup after missing time with a shoulder separation. Jimmy Howard stopped 36 shots. The Wings host the Penguins tomorrow evening. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Favre Return to Lambeau Delayed
Former Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Brett Favre’s expected return to Lambeau Field could be delayed because of former quarterback Bart Starr’s health problems. Favre had agreed to appear on the field with Starr before the Sunday night game against the Bears on November 9th. Starr recently suffered two strokes and a heart attack, and Favre has told ESPN that he’s not comfortable making the appearance solo. Plans to induct Favre into the Packers’ Hall of Fame and retire his number next year remain in place.

NBA – Pistons Prepare for Final Preseason Game
The Detroit Pistons play their final NBA preseason game at home against the 76ers tomorrow night. We will carry select Pistons games this season on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
