Calumet Leads All-State HS Hockey Honorees – Saturday Sports Wrap

Denied a chance to play for a state title by the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, the Calumet Copper Kings placed four players on the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association Division Three All-Star First Team – the most of any school.

Alex Studebaker was one of three goalies honored on the first squad. Forwards Scott Loukus, Dean Loukus and Tanner Rowe joined him on the roster. Hancock forward Austin Salani and Houghton defenseman Ty Halonen were also first-team honorees.

Houghton forward Tucker Tapani and goalie Jimmy Pietila were placed on the second team, along with Calumet defenseman Lincoln Beiring. Calumet defenseman Cam Kauppinen earned Honorable Mention votes.
