Calumet One Wins Horseshoe League Crown – Tuesday Sports Wrap

The Detroit Tigers had yesterday off, and begin a quick interleague set in Saint Louis tonight. Casey Mize will start against Jack Flaherty. Coverage will begin at 7:25 on 99.3 The Lift.

Outfielder Akil Baddoo will be back with the Tigers tonight. He’s been reinstated from the injured list after undergoing concussion protocol following his outfield collision with Derek Hill two weeks ago. Pitcher Drew Hutchison was designated for assignment to make room. First baseman Renato Núñez has cleared waivers after he was designated for assignment Saturday. He’s been assigned to Toledo.

The Milwaukee Brewers also had yesterday off, and entertain the Cincinnati Reds tonight. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Tyler Mahle.

Horseshoes

Calumet One claimed the Copper Country Horseshoe League tournament title last night, with a 6-3 victory over Dreamland One. L and L downed Harter’s Party Store 6-3 to earn third place.

Running

The Husky Hustle 5k trail run will be held Friday afternoon at 5:30 on the Tech Trails. The event is free for MTU students. Advance registration for others costs $10.00, and race day sign-up is $15.00. For registration information and full details, click here.
