The Finlandia University football team will kick off its inaugural season on Saturday, September 5 at McAfee Field against the university’s closest in-state rival, Alma College. That is the first of 10 games the Lions will play during the team’s maiden NCAA Division III football season.

“Our schedule will provide us with a great opportunity to see where our team is at in its first year of play,” head coach Tim Driscoll said. “We can’t wait to get our team out on the field to play in front of what we hope will be a great crowd at beautiful McAfee Field.”

Finlandia will also host home games September 26 vs. University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, October 10 vs. Maranatha Baptist University and October 24 vs. Trinity Bible College. The team will play on the road at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Buffalo State College, Maranatha Baptist University, Concordia University (Wis.) JV and College of Mount St. Joseph.
