Illinois Tech Takes Finlandia Volleyball Triangular
At Finlandia University’s volleyball triangular yesterday, the Illinois Institute of Technology defeated the Lions and Gogebic Community College by identical 3-0 scores. The Samsons won their game against the Lions 3-2.
Both Finlandia basketball teams kick off their official practice schedules with a Midnight Madness event tonight. Doors open at 11:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center, and the first practices of the season start at midnight.
NFL
The 49ers defeated the Rams 31-17 in last night’s NFL game. If you played the Wolf Pro Football Challenge, you must have picked at least 13 games correctly to be eligible to be our weekly winner.
NHL – Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings will host the Bruins tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 8:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
NBA – Pistons
The Detroit Pistons’ next preseason game will be tomorrow morning at 11:00 at Charlotte. We will carry select Pistons games again this season on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
The injury that forced guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope out of the last preseason game has been diagnosed as a left knee strain. Team officials say an MRI revealed no structural damage. Caldwell-Pope will miss at least the next three games, and will be re-evaluated next week.
Calumet will continue its drive for the football playoffs Friday night at Ironwood. Lake Linden-Hubbell will host North Dickinson Saturday afternoon. Hear both broadcasts on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
