Calvin College used a strong first half to power past the Finlandia University men’s basketball team 82-68 yesterday afternoon. The Lions trailed by 16 at halftime, and never threatened the Knights. Brandon Robinette, Jordan LaPlant and Marcus Geralds each scored 16 for Finlandia.

NHL – Red Wings Dump Devils
Darren Helm scored twice, as the Red Wings beat the Devils 3-1 last night. Henrik Zetterberg also scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard faced only 13 shots in goal. The Wings will open a west coast trip at Vancouver Saturday night. Faceoff is at 10:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

NBA – Pistons Prepare for Knicks
The Pistons visit the Knicks tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Detroit has sent rookie guard Spencer Dinwiddie to their D-League affiliate in Grand Rapids. Dinwiddie was selected in the second round of last summer’s NBA draft. He has appeared in only eight games this season.
