MTU Hockey Begins Tonight
The Michigan Tech hockey team opens its schedule with home games against Laurentian University tonight and tomorrow night. Faceoffs are at 7:07 at MacInnes Arena.

The Tech volleyball team entertains Walsh this afternoon at 5:00, and Malone tomorrow afternoon at 4:00.

The MTU women’s tennis team plays at Tiffin this afternoon, and at Findlay tomorrow morning.

The unbeaten Michigan Tech football team hosts Northwood in the annual Homecoming game tomorrow. Kickoff is at 1:00 at Sherman Field.

Both Tech cross country teams run at the NCAA Division II Challenge in Chicago tomorrow.

Finlandia Men’s Soccer Wins Again
The Finlandia University men’s soccer team edged Crown College 2-1 last night. Alex Freeman’s goal in the 78th minute was the game-winner. Chris Johnson also scored for the Lions. The Finlandia women’s soccer team lost to Crown College 3-0. Both soccer teams play at Bethany Lutheran College today.

The Finlandia volleyball team hosts their final home tournament of the season this weekend. The Lions will face North Central University at 6:30 this evening. Tomorrow, they’ll play Grace Bible College at 10:30, and Mount Mary University at 3:00.

The Finlandia football team entertains Presentation College tomorrow at 1:00 at McAfee Field.

NHL – Wings Open Tonight
The Detroit Red Wings open their regular-season schedule tonight at home against former coach Mike Babcock and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jimmy Howard will start in goal. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

NBA – Pistons Fall
The Detroit Pistons fell to the Brooklyn Nets 93-83 in preseason NBA play last night. The Pistons play an exhibition at Milwaukee tomorrow night.

MLB
In the opening games of the American League Divisional Series yesterday, Texas defeated David Price and Toronto 5-3, and Houston beat Kansas City 5-2. Both of those series continue this afternoon.

The National League Divisional Series open tonight. The Cubs play at Saint Louis, and the Mets travel to Los Angeles.

NFL
In last night’s NFL game, Indianapolis downed Houston 27-20.

The unbeaten Packers entertain the Rams in a 1:00 game on Sunday. The winless Lions host the Cardinals in a 4:05 game. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Former Packers coach Lindy Infante passed away yesterday morning. Infante led the team from 1988 through 1991. He was 75.
