Finlandia
The Finlandia University women’s basketball team suffered an 81-62 loss at Adrian College yesterday. Julia Daavettila had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions. Kelsie Richards added 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Finlandia men’s team couldn’t overcome a slow start, and lost 84-57 at Wisconsin-Stout yesterday. Brandon Robinette led the Lions with 14 points, and Justin Green added 12.

 

NBA
The Detroit Pistons’ losing streak reached six games, with a 91-81 loss to the Boston Celtics yesterday afternoon. Tobias Harris scored 19 points, and Andre Drummond snared 15 rebounds. The Pistons host the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night. Tip-off is at 7:00 on 99.3 The Lift.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings host the Florida Panthers tonight. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, pregame coverage will begin at 7:10 on KBear 102.3.

NFL
Both the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers earned narrow victories yesterday. The Lions’ game with the Buccaneers went down to the wire, before Matt Prater’s 46-yard field goal with 25 seconds remaining gave them a 24-21 win.  The Packers’ game with the Cleveland Browns went past the wire. Brett Hundley found Davante Adams in the endzone with 17 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, then connected with him again for a 25-yard touchdown play to win the game 27-21 early in the extra period.

In last night’s game, Chris Boswell’s field goal in the final minute gave the Pittsburgh Steelers a 39-38 come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Tonight, the New England Patriots visit the Miami Dolphins. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB
At long last, two of the stars of the Detroit Tigers’ 1984 championship team have been elected to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. Shortstop Alan Trammell and pitcher Jack Morris were named by the Modern Era Committee yesterday.

Our high school sports coverage continues tomorrow night. The Calumet hockey team entertains Marquette – the pregame show will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com. The Hancock girls basketball team plays at Calumet. Coverage will begin around 7:00 on 97.7 The Wolf and TheWolf.com.
