FinnU, MTU Hoops Teams Begin Play This Weekend – Friday Sports Wrap

High School
In the high school football tournament…
– In the Division Eight regionals, Ishpeming will host Breckenridge tomorrow in a battle of unbeatens.
– In the Division Four regionals, Escanaba will play at Grand Rapids Catholic Central tomorrow.
– In eight-player Division Two, Rapid River and Cedarville meet in the semifinals tonight at Rapid River.

Finlandia
The Finlandia University women’s basketball team will entertain Calvin College tonight at 6:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center. Our broadcast coverage will begin at 5:40 on 99.3 The Lift and 993TheLift.com. The men’s basketball team plays at the Merrill Thompson Classic at Wisconsin-Superior this weekend. The Lions will face the host team tonight, and Wisconsin-Stout tomorrow.

The Finlandia men’s hockey team skates at Adrian College tonight, and Trine University tomorrow. The women’s hockey squad plays at St. Norbert College tonight and tomorrow.

The Lions football team entertains Alma College tomorrow afternoon. Our pregame coverage will begin around 12:40 on 99.3 The Lift and 993TheLift.com.

MTU/NMU
The second-seeded Michigan Tech volleyball team will face sixth-seed Davenport University today at 5:30 in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. Top-seed Ferris will take on fourth-seed Saginaw Valley State University in the other semifinal.

The Tech hockey team skates at Ferris State University tonight and tomorrow night.

The Northern Michigan University hockey team hosts Cornell University tonight and tomorrow night.

The MTU women’s basketball team begins its season at the Ferris State Invitational this weekend. The Huskies will face Ursuline College tonight, and Davis and Elkins College tomorrow.

The NMU women’s basketball squad plays at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge at Hillsdale College this weekend. The Wildcats will meet Lewis University tomorrow, and Indianapolis University on Sunday.

The Tech men’s basketball team opens its campaign at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge at Northern Michigan University. The Huskies will play Lewis University tomorrow afternoon, and McKendree University on Sunday. The Wildcats will face McKendree tomorrow, and Lewis on Sunday.

The Tech football team wraps up its season against Northwood University tomorrow at noon at Sherman Field.

The NMU football team visits Ashland University tomorrow.

The Portage Lake Pioneers visit the Fox Cities Ice Dogs tomorrow night.

The Detroit Pistons visit the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

In last night’s NFL game, the Pittsburgh Steelers ripped the Carolina Panthers 52-21.
