Detroit Lions linebacker Trevor Bates has been arrested. Reports out of New York City say Bates was taken into custody after refusing to pay a cab fare. He was being processed at the 115th precinct when he went berserk, and slugged a police officer in the head, causing a concussion. It took multiple officers and a taser to control Bates, who has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation. Bates played mostly on special teams for Detroit this season.

Our high school basketball broadcasts continue tomorrow, when the Chassell girls play at Baraga. Pregame coverage will start around 7:00 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
