The Finlandia University women’s hockey squad lost 7-0 at seventh-ranked Adrian College yesterday afternoon. Annah Smiddy and Sarah Gundry shared time in net, as the Lions were outshot 45-14.

In Great Lakes Hockey League play,  the Portage Lake Pioneers defeated the De Pere Deacons 7-2 yesterday.

NHL
Tomáš Tatar’s goal in overtime lifted the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 victory over the Washington Capitals yesterday afternoon. For the second game in a row, Detroit gave up a three-goal lead in the third period. Tatar’s game-winner nearly three minutes into the extra period was his second of the contest. Jimmy Howard made 23 saves. The Wings host the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow night. Pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons’ defense struggled down the stretch, as they lost 118-115 to the Atlanta Hawks yesterday afternoon. Andre Drummond led Detroit with 25 points and 15 rebounds. The Pistons welcome the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. Tip-off is at 7:00 on 99.3 The Lift.
