MLB

Jonathon Schoop’s grand slam powered the Detroit Tigers to a 7-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs last night. Spencer Turnbull gave up just three hits over nearly six shutout innings to earn the win. The Cubs’ only score came on a home run off Buck Farmer in the ninth.

That series concludes tonight in the Motor City. Michael Fulmer will start against Jon Lester. Coverage begins at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Milwaukee Brewers shaded the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 last evening. All of the scoring came in the fourth inning. Former Brewer Mike Moustakas’ single in the top of the frame drove in both Reds’ runs. Ben Gamel’s double and Orlando Arcia’s single brought the Crew from behind. Brandon Woodruff went six innings, and got the win.

The Brewers host the Reds again tonight. Adrian Houser will pitch against Sonny Gray.
