The Finlandia men’s basketball team plays at Northland International University tonight.

NHL – Red Wings Fall to Montreal
Red Wings LogoCarey Price stopped 25 shots, as the Montreal Canadiens blanked the Detroit Red Wings 2-0 last night. The game was scoreless until Tomas Plekanec slipped a shot past Jimmy Howard with 2:30 remaining. Montreal added an empty-netter in the closing seconds. The Wings skate at Chicago tomorrow night. Face-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Goalie Petr Mrazek has been sent back to Grand Rapids. Mrazek went 13-5-1 while filling in for Howard and Jonas Gustavsson while they were recovering from injuries. Gustavsson will resume his role as Howard’s backup.

NBA – Pistons Off for All-Star Break
The Pistons are off for the all-star break. They’ll host the Bulls Friday night.

MLB – Cabrera Exam Today
Tigers’ first baseman Miguel Cabrera will have his surgically-repaired foot and ankle examined today. Doctors removed a bone spur and treated a stress fracture in November. If he’s cleared to resume baseball activity today, he could be ready for Opening Day. Pitchers and catchers report to training camp in Lakeland on Thursday.
