High School

In boys high school basketball last night…
• Calumet opened a big early lead, then held off a determined Hancock squad for a 41-39 victory. The Bulldogs recovered, and actually led by as much as five points late in the game before the Copper Kings were able to close it out. Calumet’s Blake Tarvis led all scorers with 19 points. Gavin Sturos added 10. Ned Larson and Alex Pietila each had 10 for the Bulldogs. Hear the game broadcast replay here.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell outscored Chassell 74-42. Danny Marcotte paced the Lakes with 16 points, and Josh Daavettila added 15. Eli Danison scored 24 for the Panthers.
• Jeffers stopped Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 78-42.
• Baraga edged Republic-Michigamme 32-30
• Ontonagon lost to Bessemer 57-45.

In basketball tonight…
• Houghton hosts Westwood.
• Chassell welcomes Stephenson.
• Baraga plays at Ontonagon to make up Monday’s snow-out.

Both of the Michigan Tech and NMU basketball teams have the weekend off.

GLHL

The Calumet Wolverines visit the Marquette Mutineers tonight.

NHL

Alex Lyon made 34 saves, as the Red Wings cruised past the Blackhawks 5-1 last night. J.T. Compher and Robby Fabbri each scored twice, and Ben Chiarot found the net once.

The Wings visit the Canadiens tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons’ team-record losing streak reached 16 games, with a 118-112 loss to the Knicks last night. Cade Cunningham scored 31 for Detroit, and Killian Hayes added 23. Jalen Duren grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Pistons entertain the Cavaliers tomorrow.

NFL

In last night’s contest, Dak Prescott’s third touchdown pass of the night late in the game gave the Cowboys a 41-35 victory over the Seahawks. 

The Lions visit the Saints in a 1:00 contest Sunday on 99.3 The Lift.

The Packers welcome the Chiefs in the Sunday night game on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

The Brewers have reportedly reached a long-term deal with their top minor league prospect. Outfielder Jackson Chourio hasn’t yet played a game in the majors, but has agreed to an eight-year, $80 million contract. He’s listed as the number-two prospect in all of Major League Baseball.
