SCHOOL CLOSINGS COULD FORCE SCHEDULE CHANGES

On the basketball schedule tonight…
• Both Jeffers teams host Bessemer. The girls varsity contest will start at 5:45 in the new gym, with the boys game to follow. The JV contests will be played in the old gym.
• Both Dollar Bay-Tamarack City squads will entertain Ewen-Trout Creek. The girls will tip off at 6:00, with the boys game to follow.
• Both L’Anse teams journey to Watersmeet.

In other girls hoops action tonight…
• Calumet travels to Westwood (Westwood is closed today).
• Hancock visits Ishpeming (Ishpeming is closed today).

In other boys contests…
• Houghton’s game against Negaunee has been postponed – no makeup date has been announced.

College Basketball

Both Michigan Tech basketball teams entertain Wisconsin-Parkside tonight. The women’s game begins at 5:30, and the men’s contest at 7:30.

The Northern Michigan University men’s team will host Purdue-Northwest this evening. The Pride’s women’s team is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, and has canceled its games against Northern tonight, and against Michigan Tech on Saturday.

The Finlandia University women’s basketball team plays at Wisconsin-Superior tonight.

College Hockey

The Finlandia men’s hockey games scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday at Trine University have been postponed because of COVID-19 issues. No make-up date has been announced.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Anaheim Ducks tonight. We’ll join the game in progress after Pistons basketball on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons lost to the Charlotte Hornets 140-111 last evening. Charlotte’s Kelly Oubre, Jr. sank eight three-pointers in the fourth quarter to tie an NBA record. Trey Lyles led Detroit with 17 points.

The Pistons visit the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. Coverage begins at 7:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are preparing for Sunday’s regular-season finale against each other in Detroit. Green Bay tackle David Bakhtiari took part in a walk-through practice yesterday, hoping to make his return from ACL surgery on Sunday. Lions quarterback Jared Goff also took part in practice yesterday – he’s been out with a knee injury. Hear Sunday’s game on 99.3 The Lift.
