In high school hockey last night…
• Jeffers fell to University Liggett 4-3.

The regular season ends today…
• Calumet hosts University Liggett. Coverage will begin at 12:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
• Jeffers welcomes Escanaba at 1:00 at the SDC.

In boys basketball last evening…
• Houghton outscored Bessemer 67-44.
• Calumet held off Gwinn 37-36. Brayden Nelson scored 13 for the Copper Kings, and Tyler Black added 11.
• Hancock lost to Iron Mountain 75-24.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell defeated Stephenson 58-45. Gabe Popko of the Lakes led all scorers with 26.
• Jeffers fell Escanaba 72-68 in overtime. It’s the first loss of the season for the Jets.
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City downed Baraga 48-38.

In girls play…
• Baraga dispatched Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 59-29.
• L’Anse defeated Forest Park 62-42.

In high school swimming…
• The U.P. diving championships were held at Marquette yesterday – results have not yet been posted.
• The U.P. swimming championships will be held at Marquette today.

College Basketball

Both Michigan Tech basketball teams host Parkside today – the women at 1:00, and the men at 3:00.

Both Northern Michigan teams entertain Purdue-Northwest today.

College Hockey

The Michigan Tech hockey team has the weekend off, before closing the regular season at Minnesota State next weekend.

Northern Michigan University hockey ripped Ferris State 9-2. Those teams face off again tonight in Marquette.

The Finlandia women’s hockey team fell at Concordia-Wisconsin 5-0 last night. The Falcons outshot the Lions 69-11. Finlandia concludes its season at Concordia-Wisconsin today.

GLHL

The Calumet Wolverines host the Portage Lake Pioneers tonight. Faceoff is at 7:30 at the Colosseum.

NHL

The Red Wings skate at Seattle tonight. Coverage will begin at 10:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

Because of the all-star break, the Pistons are off until they visit the Magic Thursday night.

MLB

The Tigers have claimed pitcher Tyler Holton off waivers from the Diamondbacks. Ironically, Holton was waived because Arizona needed a roster spot for former Tigers reliever Andrew Chafin.

Former Tigers outfielder Robbie Grossman has signed a one-year contract with the Rangers.
