MLB

The Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins called off last evening’s game, as part of a growing protest by professional athletes, following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha on Sunday. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader today. Matthew Boyd will start against Randy Dobnak in the opener. Tarik Skubal will pitch for Detroit in the second contest. Coverage begins at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Tigers have ended the season for pitching prospects Matt Manning and Alex Faedo. Both are suffering from forearm strains, and team officials want them to focus on getting ready for next year.

The Brewers returned to the field yesterday, but lost both of their games to the Cincinnati Reds, 6-1 and 6-0. Adrian Houser gave up four runs over four innings in the opener, and took the loss. Josh Lindblom allowed two runs over four innings in the nightcap.

Milwaukee hosts the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Derek Holland.

NBA

All of yesterday’s NBA games were called off because of the racial injustice protests. Players have agreed to continue the playoffs. Team practices will be held today, and games will resume tomorrow.

NHL

The NHL postponed the playoff games scheduled for last night and tonight.
