NBA

The NBA championship series continues tomorrow night in Milwaukee. The Suns lead the Bucks 2-0.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers lost 4-2 to the Minnesota Twins last night. Matt Manning gave up just one hit over five shutout innings, but left after the first two runners in the sixth reached base. Ian Krol replaced him, and allowed those two runners to score, then gave up two more runs. It was Krol’s first major league appearance since 2018. The Tigers collected eight hits, but didn’t light the scoreboard until Robbie Grossman’s two-run homer in the eighth.

The Tigers visit the Twins again this afternoon. Kyle Funkhauser will start against Bailey Ober. Coverage begins at 1:50 on 99.3 The Lift.

After the game, Manning was sent down to Triple-A Toledo. Manager A.J. Hinch said the move was not based on Manning’s performance, but that the team wanted him to continue pitching on a regular basis through the upcoming Major League All-Star break. Derek Holland was activated off the injured list to fill out the roster.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 last evening. Eric Lauer took the tough loss, allowing a run on four hits over six innings.

The Brewers host the Reds again this evening. Freddy Peralta will pitch against Vladimir Gutierrez.

Peralta has been added to the National League All-Star team. He’ll take the place of Milwaukee teammate Brandon Woodruff, who will not be able to play in next week’s Classic because he’s starting tomorrow’s game against the Reds.

Guts Frisbee

The 63rd Coca Cola International Frisbee Tournament takes place today and tomorrow at the Hancock Driving Park. Some of the best Guts Frisbee players in the country will compete for the sport’s most prestigious title, including the local Shottle Bop team, which recently earned co-champion honors at the Wisconsin state championships. The public is invited.
