• Calumet came from behind to earn a 17-16 victory over Houghton. The Copper Kings scored the only touchdown of the first half, on a 51-yard Cam Anderson run, and a Ben Anderson kick. The Gremlins got on the board with a 38-yard Oscar Peterson scamper in the third quarter, then added a 19-yard Jay Halonen run early in the fourth quarter, each with successful two-point conversions. Trailing by nine, Calumet responded with a 17-yard Cam Anderson run and Ben Anderson kick. Nursing a two-point lead with less than five minutes remaining, Houghton began to run out the clock. A long pass play from deep in their own territory moved the ball across midfield with just 90 seconds left, but the Gremlins fumbled the ball on the next play, and Calumet recovered. The Copper Kings drove into the red zone, and, with 20 seconds remaining, Ben Anderson booted a 25-yard field goal to complete the comeback. For Calumet, Cam Anderson rushed for 119 yards on 17 carries. Ted Loukus completed five of seven passes for 87 yards, and rushed for 53 yards.
