The Michigan Tech hockey team entertains Bemidji State tonight and tomorrow night. The Beavers lead the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The Huskies are in second place. Both games face off at 7:07 at MacInnes Arena.

Michigan Tech freshman goaltender Angus Redmond has been named the WCHA Rookie of the Month for November. Redmond was between the pipes for all eight of the Huskies’ games last month. He won six, and held opponents to one goal or less in five of those games.

Both MTU basketball teams entertain Walsh tomorrow. The women’s game tips off at 1:00, and the men’s game at 3:00 at the SDC.

NMU
The Northern Michigan University basketball team opened Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference play last night with a 68-51 victory over Walsh. The NMU men’s team lost to Walsh 97-77.

The NMU hockey team skates at Alaska-Anchorage tonight and tomorrow night.

Finlandia
The Finlandia University men’s hockey team entertains Adrian this weekend. Faceoffs are at 7:15 this evening, and 4:00 tomorrow at the Houghton County Arena.

The Finlandia women’s hockey team skates at Lake Forest University this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.

Both Finlandia basketball teams host Minnesota-Morris tonight. The women’s game starts at 6:30, and the men’s game at 8:30 at the Paavo Nurmi Center. Both teams welcome Crown College tomorrow. The women’s game begins at 4:00, and the men’s contest at 6:00.

The Calumet Wolverines entertain the Eagle River Falcons tonight and tomorrow night. Both games start at 7:30 at the Colosseum. The Portage Lake Pioneers are off this weekend.

The Detroit Red Wings lost a 2-1 overtime decision to the Florida Panthers last night. Henrik Zetterberg scored Detroit’s only goal. Petr Mrazek made 28 saves. The Wings will skate at Pittsburgh tomorrow. Faceoff will be at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Justin Abdelkader left last night’s game during the first period with what’s been described as a lower body injury. He was observed flexing his knee, but no more details are known. Abdelkader will be evaluated today.

The Detroit Pistons will play at Atlanta tonight. Tip-off will be at 8:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Pistons’ center Andre Drummond has been fined $15,000 for hitting Roy Hibbert in the face with an elbow during Tuesday’s game against the Hawks. Drummond was called for a flagrant foul, and was ejected.

NFL
The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Dallas Cowboys 17-15 last night. The Vikings scored a touchdown with 30 seconds remaining, and could have tied the game with a successful two-point conversion. Sam Bradford’s pass was off the mark, but a replay clearly showed that a Dallas defender had hit him in the facemask as he threw – a penalty that should have been called, but was not. The loss drops the Vikings a game and a half behind the Detroit Lions in the NFC North Division.

The division-leading Lions visit the New Orleans Saints for a 1:00 game Sunday afternoon. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY. The Green Bay Packers host the Houston Texans in a 1:00 game.
