L’Anse’s Rice to Play at Finlandia – Tuesday Sports Wrap


L’Anse basketball standout Maija Rice will play college ball at Finlandia University. Rice averaged 19 points per game as a junior last season for the Purple Hornets, and was named to the All-Copper Mountain Conference Elite team.


The Detroit Pistons fell to 0-3 last night, with a 128-120 loss the Atlanta Hawks. Detroit played without veterans Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose, who were rested after turning in extended time in Saturday’s overtime loss. Jerami Grant and Josh Jackson each scored 27 for Detroit, and Mason Plumlee grabbed 12 rebounds.

Last night, Josh Allen threw four touchdown passes, as the Buffalo Bills pounded the New England Patriots 38-9. New England quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Cam Newton combined to complete just nine of 21 passes for 78 yards.
