The Michigan Tech soccer team lost to Saginaw Valley State 3-0 yesterday.

The Finlandia University women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to Macalester College yesterday.

The Finlandia men’s soccer team plays at Lincoln Christian this afternoon.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers lost 2-1 to the Kansas City Royals yesterday. Freddy Peralta gave up both KC runs before leaving in the fifth. Detroit’s only run came in the ninth, when Isaac Parades doubled home Zack Short. Niko Goodrum and Harold Castro then struck out to end the comeback attempt.

The Tigers host the Chicago White Sox this afternoon, in a make-up of last Wednesday’s rainout. Matt Manning will start against Dallas Keuchel. Coverage will begin at 12:50 on 99.3 The Lift.

Short was called up from Toledo before the game, after Victor Reyes was placed on the injured list. Reyes suffered a groin injury in Saturday’s contest.

The Milwaukee Brewers clinched the National League Central Division title with an 8-4 victory over the New York Mets yesterday. Freddy Peralta wasn’t sharp, allowing four runs before leaving in the sixth. Milwaukee batters picked him up, with Willy Adames hitting a home run, and driving in three runs.

The Brewers have today off, and open a series in Saint Louis tomorrow.

NFL

Justin Tucker kicked an NFL-record 66-yard field goal as time expired yesterday, and the Baltimore Ravens edged the Detroit Lions 19-17. Tucker’s kick bounced off the crossbar, and went over. It came one play after it appeared that the Ravens had failed to snap the ball before the play clock had expired. No penalty was called.

Mason Crosby drilled a 51-yard field goal as time expired to give the Green Bay Packers a dramatic 30-28 victory over the San Francisco 49ers last night. The 49ers had scored a touchdown with 37 seconds remaining to take the lead, but Aaron Rodgers completed a couple of clutch passes to set up the game-winning kick.

The Philadelphia Eagles visit the Dallas Cowboys tonight. Hear the game on 99.3 The Lift.
