The Detroit Red Wings broke their two-game losing streak with a 4-3 overtime victory over the New York Islanders last night. Mike Green scored twice during regulation. Danny DeKeyser netted the game-winner a minute into the extra period. Petr Mrazek made 32 saves. The Wings skate at Winnipeg tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 8:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Pistons’ three-game winning streak ended with a 98-92 loss to the Orlando Magic last evening. Marcus Morris led Detroit with 21 points. Reggie Jackson added 18 in his first action of the season. He played just 23 minutes as he continues to recover from knee tendinitis. The Pistons will host the Chicago Bulls tomorrow night.

The Detroit Lions didn’t need a fourth-quarter comeback, as they cruised past the New Orleans Saints 28-13 yesterday. Matthew Stafford threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns. The Detroit defense intercepted three Drew Brees passes. The Lions lead the NFC North by two games over the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers climbed into that tie for second place with a 21-13 victory over the Houston Texans yesterday. Green Bay put the game away with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Houston’s only touchdown came with just two minutes remaining.

The New York Jets host the Indianapolis Colts tonight. Hear the broadcast on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
