The Detroit Lions’ playoff hopes crashed and burned yesterday in a lackluster 26-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Lions took a one-point lead when Tion Green scored on a five-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. The Bengals reclaimed the advantage with a field goal five minutes later, then sealed the victory with a touchdown with two minutes remaining.

Our high school hockey coverage continues Wednesday, with the opening games of the MacInnes Holiday Tournament. Houghton faces Howell at 6:00, and Hancock takes on Calumet at 8:00.
